About 340 foreigners serve sentences in prisons in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, May 31, 2019. / Kabar /. Currently, about 9 thousand 300 convicts are serving sentences in the institutions of the State Service for the Sentences Execution, about 340 convicts of them are foreigners.
According to the press service of the State Service, the largest number of convicted foreigners are citizens of Uzbekistan - 32.7%. Then, the citizens of Tajikistan - 24.5% of the total number of convicted foreigners. The number of convicted citizens of the Russia - 19%, Kazakhstan - 16.9%, Turkey - 2.6% and China - 0.5%.
"The national composition of the convicts is as follows: Kyrgyz - 62.1%, Russians - 16.9%, Uzbeks - 9.8%, Tajiks –1.9%, Uigurs - 1.8%, Kazakhs - 1.3%, Dungans - 0.9%, others - 4.9%," the report said.
