Tashkent-Samarkand, Aug.26, 2019./Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s delegation, led by Culture Minister Azamat Jamankulov, is taking part in the "Preserving tangible and intangible heritage: current problems and strategies to solve them" International Conference under the aegis of the UNESCO, Kabar correspondent reports from the ground.
According to Jamankulov, very global problems are taking place in the world today, cities are developing, and the population in the places where historical objects used to be is growing.
"In this regard, the history, present and future of the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva in Uzbekistan are illustrative examples. The same historical cities and historical objects exist in Kyrgyzstan. Our historical objects are very similar; they are from the same period. Therefore, the exchange of experience and information in this area, joint promotion of ideas is very important. We cannot allow these sites to disappear. This is not only the historical heritage of this country, but also the heritage of the world," the minister said.
The program of the Conference includes the reports of Bakyt Amanbayeva, head of the cultural heritage research sector of the Institute of History and Cultural Heritage of Kyrgyzstan’s National Academy of Sciences, entitled "The Fergana branch of the Great Silk Road: Monuments of Kyrgyzstan’s Section" and Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor of the AUCA Department of Sociology Aizharkyn Kozhobekova "Intangible Cultural Heritage as an Element of Constructing Meanings in the Process of Urbanization".
The Conference is continuing its work.
