Jeenbekov: Status of Russian language as official will be preserved

Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2019. / Kabar /. "The status of the Russian language as an official one will be preserved," President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov said today during a solemn meeting devoted to the 30th anniversary of giving the Kyrgyz language the status of the state language in Bishkek.
"The Kyrgyz language has not yet taken its historical place in society. We have to solve many problems so that it becomes the language of interethnic communication. At the same time, I declare that the status of the Russian language as the official one will be preserved. The Russian language is a window into world culture, the world of science and knowledge. The role of the Russian language in our society will be as significant as it is now," the head of state emphasized.
