AKIPRESS.COM - Some 9,500 soms were allocated from the reserve fund of Ak-Tala district for sewing of face masks, Turmush reported. The face masks are sewn at the workshop of the local professional lyceum.
"We started sewing masks since March 20 due to shortage of masks in pharmacies. We were brought 80 meters of fabric. We sew 20 masks from one meter of fabric. We have sewn more than 250 masks so far. It takes 5 minutes to sew one mask. Six women are working here now," Elmira Akaeva, workshop worker, said.
The masks are then sold to locals at 15 soms each at local pharmacies, vice district governor Kenjegul Karagulova said.
The money received from the sale of masks will be used for purchase of fabric, the vice governor stated.
