AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Emergency Situations Zamirbek Askarov admitted the Ministry was not fully prepared for coronavirus fight in the very first days.
"Disinfectants are not produced in Kyrgyzstan. There was a small stock of disinfectants. We obtained disinfectants following the talks with entrepreneurs and others. After the talks with different countries, we received 40 tons of liquid chlorine," Minister Askarov said on the local TV channel.
18 tons of liquid chlorine arrived from Russia, 18 tons more will arrive tomorrow, he said.
"The second problem was shortage of personal protective equipment for emergency workers. This problem was resolved for a short period of time with help of partners, international organizations. We provided emergency workers with personal protective equipment," Askarov said.
