President Jeenbekov demands to step up fight against coronavirus infection

AKIPRESS.COM - A big responsibility rests on local authorities for keeping control over epidemiological situation and prevention of its further deterioration, President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said at the meeting of the Security Council today.
Public transport remains the most dangerous place for potential COVID-19 transmission, the President said.
"The respective actions will be taken with regard to the public transport companies that do not comply with sanitary protocols. Restaraunts and cafes restarted their work. They must strictly adhere to all requirements," the President underscored.
Every citizen should contribute to prevention of coronavirus infection and follow medical recommendations. Some citizens may not develop symptoms and as such pose threat to the society, he said.
"Masks should be worn in public places. In case symptoms of infection develop, citizens should go into self-isolation," President Jeenbekov added.
Citizens arriving from abroad should be quarantined for 14 days under a strict control, the President underlined.
The President demanded from the nation-wide team for COVID-19 fight, the Ministry of Health, the region governors, the mayors, the district governors to step up efforts in fight against coronavirus infection.
