Health Ministry warns of 'tough measures' if spike in COVID-19 cases continues in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - "We will have to take tough measures and introduce restrictive measures taking into account the epidemiological situation if this situation continues," said Health Minister Sabirjan Abdikarimov at the briefing on June 22 speaking of the coronavirus situation in Kyrgyzstan.
The state of emergency and emergency situation were introduced in Kyrgyzstan, however due to the economic situation some facilities resumed their activities.
According to the minister, it was decided to suspend public transport on weekends in order to reduce contacts and the spread of infection.
Recently, the activities of preschool institutions were allowed, a couple of objects were opened in Bishkek. Unfortunately, COVID-19 carriers were identified among nursery teachers, said Abdikarimov.
"We can propose introducing restrictions on certain zones and closing certain objects if the epidemiological situation worsens," he added.
