AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov and officials accompanying him on visit to Moscow will go into self-isolation upon return to Bishkek, press secretary Tologonai Stamalieva said.
President Sooronbai Jeenbekov yesterday arrived in Moscow to attend the events marking the 75th anniversary of the World War II victory.
Prior to departure to Moscow, the President, members of the delegation and accompanying officials were tested for COVID-19 and all results were negative, the press secretary said.
"Upon arrival in Moscow, all were tested again and Chief of Foreign Policy Division of President's Administration Daniyar Sydykov and a security guard had positive results for COVID-19. The President made the decision to refrain from the events marking the 75th anniversary of the World War II victory. His attendance would be an irresponsible act towards those participating in those events," press secretary Stamalieva said.
The President and the delegation will return to Bishkek.
Those who tested positive for COVID-19 will go into self-isolation for 14 days.
The President and other officials will go into self-isolation until obtaining the rest results, presumably for 3 days, the press secretary stated.
