April TV channel wins right to go on the air

AKIPRESS.COM - April TV Channel announced it won the right to go on the air after 1.5-year break.
The channel went off the air in the evening of 7 August 2019 following arrest of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev, one of founders of the channel. The property was frozen.
"In November 2019, a private broadcasting operator Digital Technologies permitted broascasting to the April despite seizure of property of the channel. However, the military prosecutor's office found this decision unlawful and filed a claim to the court. The court process lasted more than a year. Eventually, the judge of the Oktiabrskiy district court made the decision on December 15 to reject the claim of the military prosecutor's office. This way the April channel got the right to resume broadcasting," the TV channel said.
TV Channel director Dmitry Lozhnikov said resumption of broadcasting will depend upon the decision of founders of the channel. Both founders - Almazbek Atambayev and Farid Niyazov - are held in custody.
