AKIPRESS.COM - Human bones washed up on the shore of the Toktogul reservoir, which is having a low water period. Sүuntek Choturov, a local resident from the village of Torkent in the Jalal-Abad region, could not stand that and decided to bury the remains together with his sons.
Since the beginning of the spring, they had collected bones of about 100 people that washed ashore.
"Many years ago the residents of Kara-Suu buried the bones of a large number of people near the reservoir. Locals say there were about 30-40 bags of bones back then. This is the second time the human remains washed ashore. Some local authorities are aware of the situation. I thinks it's not OK that remains of our ancestors are coming to surface," he said.
He added that locals got used to it, and many are indifferent, therefore he sought aid from different organizations to bury the remains.
