Bishkek, Apr. 13, 2019. / Kabar /. Ex-deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Omurbek Babanov, decided not to return to Kyrgyzstan.
The politician was going to return home today.
On his Facebook page, he wrote that he did not intend to return, because during a peaceful rally, which was to be held in his support, there would be provocations. And in order not to let down his supporters, he decided not to return.
The supporters of Babanov intended to go to the peaceful rally today.
Babanov, the leader of the Respublika party, former prime minister of the country, is in Moscow now. Two criminal cases were initiated against him in Kyrgyzstan. He is accused of publicly calling for a violent change of the constitutional order and incitement to racial or religious hatred, as well as an attempt to forcibly seize power.
