Bishkek, Apr. 12, 2019. / Kabar /. In the framework of the official visit of President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Germany, a business forum will be held in the city of Munich, Daniyar Sydykov, head of the foreign policy department of the President’s Office told at the briefing.
The visit of the head of state is scheduled for Apr. 15-16.
He said that that following the reached agreements the first business forum will be held in Munich on Apr. 15, jointly with the Union of Entrepreneurs in Bavaria.
"During the preparation of the economic part of the president’s visit, the competent authorities formed serious business profiles and projects of Kyrgyz companies, so that they could be sent to the German side in a timely manner. We expect concrete, substantive negotiations to take place. A number of documents are expected to be signed during the visit. This work is being conducted by the Investments Protection and Promotion Agency," he noted.
More specific areas on which the parties will focus in trade and economic relations, Sydykov named the hydropower and renewable energy sources, agriculture, tourism, establishing cooperation between the cooperative systems of Germany and Kyrgyzstan.
"There will also be a launch of a relevant project in the field of German development policy within the framework of decree of our president on the development of the country's regions. In this regard, it is planned to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the National Association of Cooperatives of Germany and the Union of Cooperatives of Kyrgyzstan. The support of Germany in the creation of a joint phytosanitary laboratory in the Kyrgyz Republic, in the training of our specialists in the Bavarian phytosanitary laboratory is also being worked out. It is planned to sign a memorandum of cooperation between universities of the two countries in the field of research and training of agricultural and hydropower specialists. Of course, a substantial package of documents is expected to be signed," he added.
Within the framework of the official visit to Germany Sooronbay Jeenbekov will meet with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, and also with President of the Bundestag Wolfgang Schäuble.
