AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov met with Florian Herrmann, Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery and Minister of State for Federal and European Affairs and Media, on April 15 in Munich as part of his two-day working visit to Germany.
Florian Herrmann welcomed Jeenbekov and said his visit to Bavaria speaks for friendly relations between the nations.
Jeenbekov pointed out high-level cooperation between the nations and suggested to hold the 3rd Days of German Economy in Kyrgyzstan in 2020. He invited German businessmen to invest into Kyrgyzstan. He said a number of documents will be signed during today's business forum.
Talking about successful cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Jeenbekov said that since 2002 over 2000 students were covered by scholarships in Kyrgyzstan.
He also told about democratic reforms ongoing in Kyrgyzstan and upcoming parliamentary elections and local elections in 2020.
New U-Kyrgyzstan cooperation strategy is under development and is expected to be signed in July 2019 together with Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
Concluding the meeting, Jeenbekov invited Florian Herrmann to Kyrgyzstan.
Herrmann thanked for invitation and highlighted the role of democracy in Kyrgyzstan.
