About 3 mln tourists visited Kyrgyzstan in 2018

Bishkek, Apr. 16, 2019. / Kabar /. 6 million 950 thousand people came to Kyrgyzstan in 2018 from different countries, Maksat Damir Uulu, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism, Director of the Department of Tourism, told at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He noted that, according to data of the National Statistics Committee, 1.4 million tourists visited Kyrgyzstan last year.
"But if we calculate according to international standards for counting tourist attendance, then about half of those who visited the country are tourists. We can say that about 3 million people visited our country. In 2018, tourism exports also increased," he said.
The director of the tourism department said that a five-year program has already been developed. In particular, we are talking about promoting the country and developing marketing.
"This time we will focus on three products: Issyk-Kul Lake, eco-tourism and winter tourism," he added.
