Turkmen, French Foreign Ministries sign cooperation deal for 2019-2021

AKIPRESS.COM - Ashgabat hosted the Turkmen-French political consultations on April 15.
The Turkmen side was led by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov. The French delegation was led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne.
The parties discussed intensification of political cooperation, regional issues, including Afghanistan, as well as strengthening of intergovernmental and inter-parliamentary ties. The positive collaboration between Turkmenistan and France in the framework of international organizations, particularly the UN, EU and OSCE was noted, Turkmen MFA said.
During the meeting, the parties also reiterated the importance of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-French Commission on Economic Cooperation.
After talks, the parties signed the intergovernmental agreement on providing work permits to the family members of the diplomatic missions and consular employees. They also signed cooperation deal between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2019-2021.
