Criminal case against kingpin Aziz Batukaev reopened

Criminal case against crime boss Aziz Batukaev has been reopened. The Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Otkurbek Dzhamshitov told today at a meeting of the Parliament.
According to him, pre-trial proceedings in this case were resumed in January 2019.
Deputies consider the report of the Prosecutor General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov on the state of law in the republic for 2018 and the work of the prosecutor's office.
Deputy Zarylbek Rysaliev asked the Prosecutor General when he would be invited for questioning within the criminal case against Aziz Batukaev.
Otkurbek Dzhamshitov replied that the interrogation of Zarylbek Rysaliev was scheduled.
The kingpin Aziz Batukaev was released from prison until the end of his sentence - in 2013, because he was recognized "a man at the point of death who will live maximum for two weeks."
After being released from a prison in Naryn, the crime lord immediately received Kyrgyz passports prepared in advance, and, guarded by special forces, was taken to Bishkek's Manas airport, from where he left for Russia by a private plane. Aziz Batukaev is in great shape and lives in Grozny (Chechnya). He was released at the time when Zarylbek Rysaliev headed the State Service for Punishment Execution.
