It is planned to oblige manufacturers and importers of consumer goods to pay a disposal fee. Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of Kyrgyzstan Abdykalyk Rustamov told today at a press conference.
According to him, the list of goods includes tires, electronic equipment, paper, glass, plastic containers and etc.
"The fee will be included in the price of goods. This money should then be transferred to the account through which the companies involved in recycling of plastic, computers and other waste will be subsidized. Only valuable materials are extracted from equipment as of today, the rest is left at landfills," said Abdykalyk Rustamov.
Such a system will allow to create new processing plants, which will ultimately lead to a reduction in the volume of garbage, including hazardous waste.
