AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstani exports accounted for 40.1% of the country's GDP, Minister of National Economy Ruslan Dalenov said.
0.5% of GDP growth is provided by exports. The national export strategy aims to increase the export of non-commodity goods and services to $32 billion by 2022, he said.
Export of Kazakhstani goods and services in 2018 amounted to $68.3 billion growing by 24.2%. Growth is primarily due to rising oil prices. Exports of services amounted to $7.3 billion, Dalenov said.
Kazakhstan exports its processed goods to China, Russia, the Netherlands, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan. These countries accounted for 75% of all exports of Kazakhstan's processed goods in 2018.
Kazakhstan also exports pipes, metal structures, rolled products, alloys, and metals; uranium; and petroleum products.
"In order to increase the volume of exports of non-commodity goods and services to $32 billion, by 2022 it is necessary to increase exports: industrial goods by $5.7 billion to $20.2 billion, agricultural goods by $0.7 billion to $1.9 billion, services by $2.4 billion to $9.7 billion. It is expected that the largest export growth will be in transportation services from $4 billion to $5.3 billion and tourism - to $2.4 billion," Dalenov added.
