Number of HIV-infected people growing in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Apr. 18, 2019. / Kabar /. Unfortunately, the number of HIV-infected people is growing in Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbaev told at the meeting of the Parliament.
According to data of the Republican AIDS Center, 8 thousand 967 HIV-positive people were registered in the country as of March 2019 of whom 484 are foreign citizens.
Cholponbaev said that in this direction the ministry is considering a new strategy on which they will work.
"Also in the framework of the Den Sooluk program, it became known that diseases of the cardiovascular system and diabetes cause almost 50% of deaths among our citizens. All these diseases are largely dependent on the lifestyle of the citizens themselves, now we are taking measures at the state level," added the minister of health.
