Kyrgyzstan once again will become epic center of the world this summer

In June of this year, the V World Epics Festival is planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan, head of the department of culture, art and vocational education of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic Damira Alyshbaeva told at Kabar News Agency.
She said that, the festival will consist of two components: a scientific and practical part and a cultural and educational program.
"At the scientific and practical symposium, scientists will discuss issues of preservation and development of the epic heritage. And in the parade of cultural diversity, Manas, dastan narrators and carriers of the epic heritage of other countries will take part," explained Alyshbaeva.
She noted that today Kyrgyzstan is positioned in the world as the birthplace of epics, because the Kyrgyz have been able to preserve their rich heritage not only in writing, but also verbally, which is manifested today in the works of narrators.
She added that if Greece was previously considered the birthplace of epics, today, due to the lack of carriers of the epic heritage of the rich history of this country, Kyrgyzstan began to occupy a major niche.
"It would seem that Greece was the birthplace of epics. Today there are scientists, but no carriers. In Kyrgyzstan, we managed to preserve them thanks to the efforts of the people and the state," Alyshbaeva said.
Also within the framework of the upcoming festival a fashion show of nomad costumes and an exhibition-fair of handicraft art will be organized.
