Lawyers of Omurbek Tekebayev appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office with a request for a review of the criminal case upon newly discovered evidence. Leader of Ata Meken parliamentary faction Almambet Shykmamatov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, additional evidence of the innocence of Omurbek Tekebayev and the former head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Duishenkul Chotonov has been found.

"It confirms that the time at which Modin allegedly met with Tekebayev and Chotonov in Supara is false. Since during this period he was driving around the city," he added.
The deputy notes that all these aspects are reflected in the petition of lawyers Chinara Dzhakupbekova and Taalaigul Toktakunova.

But the decision on the revision of the criminal case should be made by the Prosecutor General. A new investigation must be conducted.
Omurbek Tekebayev and Duishenkul Chotonov were sentenced to eight years in prison with confiscation of property. The courts of all instances found them guilty of corruption.
In November, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow arrested the former deputy of the State Duma, the main witness in Tekebayev - Chotonov case, a businessman Leonid Maevsky. He was accused of extorting $ 37.5 million for non-proliferation of defamatory information. Leonid Maevsky faces up to 15 years in prison. In this regard, the defendants also intend to insist on the speedy review of their case.
