AKIPRESS.COM - The President Vladimir Putin agreed with proposal of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon to announce amnesty towards some Tajikistan citizens who are by various reasons prohibited to stay in Russia, CA-News reports. The Russian President instructed Interior Ministry to take measures on this issue, Tajikistan's President's Office reports.
"Russia is doing a lot for Tajik citizens and their families staying in Russia to have good conditions for life, education, labor and feel themselves safe and comfortable. It is important, because over 1.2 million Tajik citizens work in Russia and sent money home, which is a good support for country's economy and their families," said Putin.
Putin and Rahmon, who was in Moscow with an official visit, held talks in the Kremlin on April 17. Putin said that he had discussed with President Rahmon some key areas of cooperation for almost an hour before the official meeting.
