The Kyrgyz side informed the French side about the intention to open a diplomatic mission in France, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov told at a briefing on the results of his meeting with visiting Secretary of State under the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Baptiste Lemoine.
The meeting of the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister and Secretary of State under the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France took place in Bishkek.
Summing up the negotiations with Lemoine, Aidarbekov stated the dynamic and progressive development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and France.
"Today we cooperate in many areas. These are political and diplomatic relations, cultural and humanitarian, trade and economic. Today, French companies are successfully operating on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. There is a great interest in projects. They also fruitfully participate in tenders for the energy sector. We welcome the further increase in the number of private sector and investors from France in Kyrgyzstan," he explained.
The minister also noted that they discussed possible ways to further deepen trade and economic relations, using the membership of the Kyrgyz Republic in the framework of the EAEU and GSP + status.
"We have noted the dynamic growth of commodity turnover between the EU countries after obtaining the status," he said.
During the visit of Jean-Baptiste Lemoine to Kyrgyzstan, memorandums of cooperation will be signed.
"We also discussed plans for preparing intergovernmental agreements that strengthen our bilateral ties. They concern interaction in different areas in the field of emergency prevention, on issues of cooperation and the avoidance of double taxation," he added.
