Kyrgyzstan plans to perform liver transplant operations

It is planned to perform liver transplant operations in Kyrgyzstan. Director of the National Center for Maternity and Childhood Welfare, Kamchybek Uzakbaev, told at a round table discussion in Bishkek.
According to him, such an operation costs from $ 70,000 to $ 120,000 abroad.
"Who can afford it? At the same time, about 20 children need a transplant annually," he said.
Kamchybek Uzakbaev told that the center successfully performed kidney transplantation operations, more than 20 specialists have international certificates.
"This year, we intend to start liver transplant operations. We turned to the Speaker of the Parliament. A government delegation visited the center. At the first stage, purchase of equipment will require about $400,000," he said.
He added that the center signed contracts with leading training clinics. "They are ready to train specialists for free," he stressed.
