Bishkek, Apr. 20, 2019. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev met with Secretary of State of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne.
During the meeting, topical issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and France and prospects for further cooperation were discussed, the government’s press service reported.
Abylgaziev noted that Kyrgyzstan with great regret took the news about the consequences of the fire in the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris and expressed sincere words of sympathy to the French people.
The prime minister highlighted the progressive development of Kyrgyz-French cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.
Abylgaziev stressed the importance of building up bilateral cooperation in the economic sphere, emphasizing, in particular, the need to intensify cooperation in the implementation of projects in the field of hydropower and the tourism industry, taking into account the country's great potential.
Lemoyne said that business representatives arrived in Kyrgyzstan as part of their delegation to study the possibility of investing.
He noted that France is ready to share experiences in the field of tourism development, efficient use of water resources, innovation and digitalization. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne added that the French side supports the efforts of the Kyrgyz authorities to develop parliamentarism and strengthen democracy.
In addition, the sides discussed the preparations for the visit of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to the French Republic.
