Verbal conflict occurs among villagers at uranium deposit in Issyk-Kul

AKIPRESS.COM - The members of inter-departmental commission for monitoring impact from activities at the uranium site to the environment, human health, and cattle-breeding in Ton district on April 20. During the meeting with population, the member of the commission said that currently the Urasia Mining Company is engaged in exploration activities at the Tash-Bulak deposit. The decision on further work of the deposit will be made following the commission's work.
During the meeting, verbal conflict erupted between the villagers. One part of the villages were outraged with the commission's work, and another part was for the commission to allow Tash-Bulak deposit development.
Head of the State Committee for Industry Emil Osmonbetov said that misunderstandings among some villagers occur due to misleading information and proposed the locals to join the inter-departmental commission looking into the deposit's exploration.
