Tajik citizen illegally detains Kyrgyz citizen and takes him to territory of Vorukh enclave

Bishkek, Apr. 23, 2019. / Kabar /. The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border at 10 am on Apr. 23 is relatively stable and is controlled by border guards from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, the press service of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
On Monday, at about 8:50 pm an unknown Tajik citizen illegally detained and took to the territory of the Vorukh enclave (Tajikistan) a 9 years old Kyrgyz citizen and handed over to law enforcement officers of Tajikistan. A Tajik citizen was cleaning the irrigation systems of the Karavshin River near the conditional boundary line.
30 minutes after the arrest, the Tajik side handed over a Kyrgyz citizen to the Kyrgyz side. According to Tajik border officials, a citizen of Tajikistan accused the detained boy of having allegedly smashed a glass excavator belonging to the Tajik the day before.
About 50-60 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, outraged by the actions of the Tajik side, gathered in the center of Aksai village.
In order to resolve the incident on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, a meeting of the border representative of Kyrgyzstan and the border representative of Tajikistan was held on the same day.
In addition, a telephone conversation took place between the heads of the border agencies of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, in which the parties noted the need to preserve the previously reached agreements and agreed not to use weapons by the border guards, as well as to observe the border regime and solve issues through negotiations.
Representatives of border agencies and local authorities, law enforcement officers of the two states conduct explanatory work with the local population.
