Bishkek, Apr. 24, 2019 / Kabar /. On the eve of the Day of the City of Bishkek, 60 new gas-powered buses arrived in the capital, which will start serving passengers very soon.
Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov personally inspected the state of the new public transport, spoke with the mayor and with the drivers.
The buses were lined on the central Ala-Too square by employees of the Bishkek Passenger Transport Company. Drivers in blue uniform with the symbols of the enterprise and national headwears anxiously waited for their first passenger in the person of the head of state.
The president tested the convenience of a new transport, and also got acquainted with the scheme of electronic ticketing. Jeenbekov instructed to speed up the process of implementing this system in order to increase the revenue side of the service and, in the future, to increase the capital's fleet using environmentally friendly transport. These measures, he said, are necessary for solving problems with smog and providing citizens with comfortable travel services.
It is expected that new buses will start working from Apr. 29.
