Bishkek, Apr. 25, 2019/ Kabar /. The Kyrgyz Government plans to open a sugar factory in Kant or Tokmok towns of Chui oblast, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev told today at the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
He said that recently these plans were discussed with the governor of the Chui oblast. "It is necessary to open another sugar factory in Chui oblast because it is difficult for farmers to transport sugar beets to Kaindy.
MP Baktybek Raiymkulov told the prime minister that more than 120,000 farmers are engaged in growing sugar beets. "It is necessary to support them. Sugar is imported into the country from Ukraine and other neighboring countries, and they have banned the sale of imports in their countries. We also need to do so - to prohibit selling imported sugar. We also need to solve the problem of raising the price of train services for these farmers," said Rayimkulov.
The prime minister promised to solve the problems of the farmers who grow sugar beets.
