Bishkek, Apr. 26, 2019 / Kabar /. Currently, seventeen Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects in various sectors of the economy are at the implementation stage, the press service of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
In order to simplify procedures and shorten time limits in the process of drafting public-private partnership projects, a new version of the draft Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Public-Private Partnership" (under consideration by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic) has been developed and approved. The adoption of this Law will speed up the initiation process, the implementation of projects and, in general, develop a PPP mechanism.
On Sept. 24, 2018 at a meeting of the PPP Council the proposal to establish a PPP Center was approved, the purpose of which is to support and accelerate the development of infrastructure projects of national and municipal importance, as well as improving the quality of state and municipal infrastructure development services through the use of various tools of public-private partnership .
A corresponding draft regulatory legal act on the formation of the PPP Center has been developed.
Currently, in the Kyrgyz Republic, seventeen PPP projects are being implemented in various sectors of the economy, such as health care, urban infrastructure, sports and tourism, transport, customs logistics and culture.
