Central Asian countries to step up cooperation in counteraction to violent extremism

AKIPRESS.COM - The State Commission for Religious Affairs of Kyrgyzstan held a meeting with representatives of government and law enforcement agencies, media representatives, NGOs, opinion leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on April 26-27 in Bishkek. The aim of the meeting was establishment of the regional advisory working group for enhancement of cooperation in prevention and counteraction to radicalism and extremism, as well as creation of the dialogue platform for joint discussion of priority issues in counteraction to violent extremism in the region.
The partner of the event was a representative office of the Search for Common Ground in Kyrgyzstan as part of the Central Asian leaders' dialogue on violent extremism reduction.
