Jeenbekov: We support Silk Road digital infrastructure development initiatives

Bishkek, Apr. 27, 2019. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov together with the heads of delegations, participated today in the sessions of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation within the framework in Beijing, China, the President’s press service reported.
The second day of the Forum is held at the International Conference Center on Yanci Lake in a suburb of Beijing. After the opening of the 1st session of the Forum by President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, the heads of the delegations - presidents and prime ministers of Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Serbia, Chile, Singapore, Pakistan, Italy, Thailand, Ethiopia, Hungary, Greece and other countries delivered speeches.
Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov also delivered a speech at the 1st session of the Forum on the theme "Strengthening interconnectedness to search for new driving forces for development".
Jeenbekov expressed his gratitude to the Chinese President Xi Jinping for inviting him to the Forum and for the warm welcome.
"Once again, touched by the sincere cordiality and traditional hospitality of your country. I carefully listened to your speech at the opening of the Forum. I fully support the creation of the "Green Silk Road" and the "Fair Silk Road". Kyrgyzstan, as an agrarian country, stands for clean ecological products. For us, a pure society is most important. Your statement that China will continue to help developing countries came out as words of support for us. Within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, the joint implementation of mutually beneficial projects is important," said Jeenbekov.
He stressed that this grand event will contribute to the further close cooperation of countries in the framework of the Belt and Road.
"This year is the sixth anniversary of the Initiative. Kyrgyzstan was one of the first to support this project. Its timeliness and prospects became the answer to global challenges and threats. The forum has become a unique platform for exchanging views and combining common efforts for the sustainable development of countries. The initiative is aimed at promoting global economic challenges. Thanks to openness and mutual benefits, the Idea is gaining more and more support in the world. I hope that the Forum will become a good tradition," the head of state said.
He stressed that China has taken real steps to realize the idea of ​​common prosperity. The country's economy is moving from accelerated development to high-quality. It is the main stabilizer for the growth of the global economy.
"Kyrgyzstan always sincerely happy with all the achievements of China - our good neighbor, loyal friend and strategic partner. With the support of China, Kyrgyzstan implemented large-scale projects aimed at the development of the republic’s economy. We highly appreciate such help," said Jeenbekov.
"Kyrgyzstan is contributing to the creation of the Silk Road Economic Belt. You know well that now the center of global economic activity is moving to the Asian continent. Kyrgyzstan is a unique place in its geographical location. On the one hand, we are close neighbors with China, on the other hand, we are a member of the Eurasian Economic Union. We are ready to become a bridge between these two global economic zones, the president emphasized. - The participants of the Second Forum are united in the fact that the development of transport infrastructure is a priority for all countries. In Kyrgyzstan, the reconstruction of transit highways is scheduled for completion in 2022. I am confident that the implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project will also be a significant contribution. This is a vital project for all of us, and it fully coincides with the concept of the Initiative. "
He also briefed about the developments in Kyrgyzstan and said that the country needs new technologies.
"We support international initiatives to develop the Silk Road digital infrastructure. We are ready to combine efforts to create new technologies and innovations in the field of green economy, energy saving, renewable energy sources, bioengineering and nanotechnology. Kyrgyzstan is a strong supporter of global and regional integration processes. We are confident that the joint construction of the One Belt, One Road will bring benefits to the peoples of all the participating countries," President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said in conclusion thanking once again the organizers and wishing all the participants of the Forum successful work.
