Dozens show up at Sadyr Japarov's trial

AKIPRESS.COM - About 50 people showed up for the trial of ex-lawmaker Sadyr Japarov at the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan. His case is to be reconsidered based on newly enforced codes.
Japarov's relatives and ex-lawmaker Jyldyzkan Joldosheva are in the crowd. Law enforcement maintain public order.
Japarov was handed 11.6 years in prison by Pervomay district court of Bishkek on August 2, 2017 for murder attempt, coup attempt, hooliganism and taking former governor of Issyk-Kul region Emil Kaptagayev hostage. Bishkek city court and Supreme Court upheld the sentence.
Japarov was arrested on March 25, 2017 on suspicion of the organization of violent protests in October 2013 in the Issyk-Kul region.
