Kyrgyzstan important for South Korea as part of its New Northern Policy – Vice Foreign Minister

AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to South Korea Dinara Kemelova and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Tae-ho discussed bilateral cooperation issues at a meeting on April 30, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan said. The upcoming high-level visits and contacts, expansion of trade and economic relations, the meeting of Kyrgyzstan-South Korea intergovernmental commission, labor migration, tourism and education were discussed during the talks.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Tae-ho thanked Kyrgyzstan for continuous support of the peaceful policy of the Republic of Korea aimed at strengthening of mutual consent on the Korean peninsula.
The Korean government advances the New Northern Policy aimed at development of relations with the countries to the north, including Russia, Mongolia and Central Asian states. Kyrgyzstan is important for South Korea in the framework of this policy, Lee Tae-ho said.
Ambassador Dinara Kemelova thanked the Korean government for multifaceted support to Kyrgyzstan.
Ambassador Dinara Kemelova suggested consideration of a possible launch of a direct flight between Bishkek and Seoul, simplification of visa requirements for Kyrgyz citizens, increase of a quota for migrant workers, increase of education grants for Kyrgyzstan, possible export of agricultural products to South Korea.
