Bishkek, May 1, 2019. /Kabar/. "As a result of researches of the Chinese annals and archival documents, the scientists of the Institute of Historical Researches of the Academy of Social Sciences of the People's Republic of China found materials about the Chinese ruler who lived in the period from 1050 to 980 B.C. and left in the chronicles the information about Kyrgyz," Kiyas Moldokasymov, the chairman of Muras public fund at the President’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
Within the framework of the working visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov to China, Deputy Director of the Historical Research Institute of the Public Academy of Sciences of China Tian Bo and the Director of the Center for Eurasian Studies of the same institute, Professor Li Jinxiu told about it during the meeting, the press service of the Kyrgyz President reported.
Professor Li Jinxiu said that well-known Chinese historian Yu Taishan in his recent studies found that the name "Kyrgyz" is present in materials that are attributed to the 10th century BC.
"At the present time, work is going on in two directions - the collection of materials about Kyrgyz historians from Japan, Korea, China and European countries and the study of Chinese chronicles in museums, libraries and archives in China. At the moment, documents are being studied and information is being gathered together," Li Jinxiu said.
She noted that comprehensive work on joint research of Chinese chronicles of Kyrgyz history has begun, Chinese scientists will arrive in Kyrgyzstan in June this year and share new information.
Kiyas Moldokasymov stressed that if before the first mention of Kyrgyz in the period up to 201 BC was published in the work "Shi Ji" by historian Sima Qian, now through the official chronicles of China, the history of the Kyrgyz moved back 8 centuries.
"This is big news and a joyful event for the history of the Kyrgyz," Kiyas Moldokasymov said.
In addition, he noted that according to the results of research chronicles, Chinese scientists found a document of 2800 pages, relating to the Manchu era, and added that, new discoveries will be possible after translating these documents into modern Chinese.
The cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China concerning the joint study of archival documents was discussed by the relevant ministries of the two countries as part of the state visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic to China in June 2018.
In August of the same year, Sooronbay Jeenbekov met in Bishkek with the same group of Chinese scientists.
Then, they discussed the collection and translation of archival documents relating to the history of the Kyrgyz people and President Jeenbekov instructed the Muras Foundation to continue cooperation with the Chinese side to conduct research on sources related to the Kyrgyz people.
Kiyas Moldokasymov visited Beijing in January 2019 and met with director of the Historical Research Institute of China, Professor Bu Xianchun, with whom an agreement on mutual cooperation was signed.
As a result, within a short time, Chinese scientists discovered quite a few relevant documents.
