AKIPRESS.COM - 79% of Kyrgyzstan's and 56% of Tajikistan's laws on extremism are identical to the Russian laws, according to Edward Lemon, fellow at Daniel Morgan Graduate School, researching Tajikistan, Eurasia, authoritarianism, extremism and security. Kazakhstan's laws are identical for 4% and Uzbekistan's laws are for 5%.
The researcher said he used a plagiarism checker to compare legislation on extremism in Russia (2002) with Tajikistan (2003), Kyrgyzstan (2005), Kazakhstan (2005), Uzbekistan (2018).
A whopping 79% of Kyrgyzstan's and 56% of Tajikistan's laws are identical to the Russian law (compared with 4% for Kazakhstan, 5% for Uzbekistan). #authoritarianlearning
