FMs of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey discuss promising issues of bilateral relations

Bishkek, May 8, 2019. / Kabar /. Within the framework of the official visit to Turkey, a meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov with head of the foreign policy department of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu, as well as the 3rd meeting of the Joint Strategic Planning Group between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey is held.
The foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey discussed the most pressing and promising issues of Kyrgyz-Turkish relations, as well as cooperation in a multilateral format.
In addition, the sides reviewed the state of the bilateral legal framework, exchanged views on the implementation of joint projects in the field of health, education and in the framework of cooperation under the TIKA line, as well as a schedule of contacts between the leadership of the two countries in the current year.
During the talks, the special attention was paid to the implementation of the outcomes of the 4th Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Turkish Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the reduction of barriers to mutual trade and expansion of investment cooperation.
Following the results of the Kyrgyz-Turkish negotiations, the heads of foreign ministries of the two countries signed an additional Protocol to the Agreement between the governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey on mutual trips of citizens of Apr. 26, 2011.
Also, the ministers exchanged notes on reducing the cost of consular fees for issuing work visas to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey from the previously existing tariff of $ 283 to $ 30 from May 15, 2019.
At the same time, the ministers reached an agreement on the signing in the near future of another Additional Protocol to the Agreement between the governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkey on cooperation in the field of health and medical sciences of June 3, 2014, providing for an increase in the effective quota from 100 people up to 150 people per year for free treatment of Kyrgyz patients in Turkish hospitals.
Following the meeting, a joint press conference was held for representatives of local and foreign media.
