Tashkent, May 14, 2019. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan intends to implement about 140 investment projects worth USD 3.2 billion by foreign companies this year. This wbecame known on Monday at a meeting on the acceleration of projects involving foreign investment under the chairmanship of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the Uzbek leader reported.
The Uzbek president criticized the timing of investment, as well as lack of efficiency in the use of huge financial opportunities.
"Investments are one of the key sources of economic development, ensuring the quality of life and the well-being of our people," he said.
Mirziyoyev demanded to pay attention to the active interaction with developed countries and to fulfill the promises made to foreign partners in time.
"It will help not only to increase the economic attractiveness of Uzbekistan, but also to attract new investments," he said.
Mirziyoyev instructed to bring investment legislation in line with international standards, which serve as a guideline and indicator of reliability for investors, the report said.
