Bishkek, May 14, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan will host the Child Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI) contest. Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev signed the corresponding decision, the government’s press service reported.
The decision to hold the Child Friendly Cities Initiative contest was made in order to stimulate the activity of the cities "growth points" to create favorable conditions for children and youth, in the framework of the presidential decree "On declaring 2019 as the Year of Regional Development and Digitalization of the country" dated Jan.11, 2019.
Child Friendly Cities Initiative contest will be held among the cities of "growth points" ,included in the Concept of Regional Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period 2018-2022, approved by the governmental decree of the Kyrgyz Republic on March 31, 2017 № 194.
Such cities as Balykchy, Batken, Bishkek, Jalal-Abad, Isfana, Kadamzhai, Kara-Balta, Karakol, Kara-Kul, Kara-Suu, Kerben, Kochkor-Ata, Naryn, Osh, Talas, Tash-Kumyr, Tokmok and Uzgen will take part in the contest.
The prize fund of the contest is 6 million soms.
Three cities out of ten that scored the highest points on a comprehensive assessment will be awarded prizes (1st, 2nd and 3rd place).
