Security Council Secretaries of SCO member states agreed to fight terrorism on Internet

Bishkek, May 15, 2019 / Kabar /. The secretaries of the Security Councils of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states expressed their intention to jointly combat the threats of terrorism, which are manifested through modern channels.
Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Damir Sagynbaev said that this work will be carried out against the propaganda of terrorist ideology through the Internet and other information and communication technologies, including publicly justifying terrorism, recruiting members into the ranks of terrorist groups, inciting to commit terrorist acts, teaching methods of committing terrorist acts using the Internet.
In addition, the meeting participants noted the importance of implementation of the joint address of the heads of the SCO member states to young people, which was voiced and signed at a summit in Qingdao a year earlier.
Also, Sagynbaev said that the sides agreed to strengthen actions within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation and Interaction of the SCO Member States on Border Issues of 2015 to enhance coordination of the efforts of the competent authorities in detecting, preventing and suppressing illegal activities at state borders.
The XIV meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the countries participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was held on May 14 - 15 in Bishkek. The heads of the delegations were received by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, and at the end of the meeting they signed the protocol of the meeting.
It should be noted that this year Kyrgyzstan chairs the SCO. The next meeting of the Security Council secretaries of the participating countries of the organization will be held in 2020 in Russia.
