New mobile network operator under brand name Salam to appear in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev met with leaders of State Property Management Fund, State Information Technology and Communications Committee, Alfa Telecom CJSC and Kyrgyztelecom OJSC to discuss resolution of the disputes between MegaCom (Alfa Telecom) and KT Mobile (Kyrgyztelecom branch).
Government said the parties decided to continue cooperation of Alfa Telecom on the use of KT Mobile frequencies and on creation of an operator.
The revenues will be split the following way: 67% to Alfa Telecom and 33% to KT Mobile.
KT Mobile, a branch of state company Kyrgyztelecom, signed a contract with Megacom company in 2018, according to which Megacom must pay 345 million soms for the right to use the GSM frequency of the KT Mobile. According to the deal, Megacom will launch the 4th mobile operator under the brand Salam in a month.
According to the Ministry of Justice, Nurbek Mukambetov is the CEO of KT Mobile.
