Exhibition dedicated to 90th anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov opened in Nur-Sultan

Bishkek, May 16, 2019. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan Zheenbek Kulubayev took part in the round table and opening of the "Meeting of Mountains and Steppes" exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of People's Writer of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan Chyngyz Aitmatov, organized by the Kyrgyzstan-Astana Public Association with the support of the Nur-Sultan district administration and the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Deputy Chairman of People’s Assembly of the Kazakhstan Tuimebayev, Deputy Head of Nur-Sultan district administration Kanalimov, Professor of Eurasian National University named after Gumilev Zholdasbekov, writer Aitmatova and others spoke at the event and shared their memories about meetings with Aitmatov and reflections on the role of the creative heritage of the writer in the formation of modern Kyrgyz, Kazakh and world culture.
According to the unanimous opinion of the participants of the round table, Chyngyz Aitmatov is a common literary treasure and pride of the entire Turkic world. Ambassador Kulubayev made a speech about the need to familiarize the young generation with the literature of Aitmatov, as well as further strengthening of cultural ties between the brotherly peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. On the same day, May 15, the Embassy took part in the opening of the museum of Aitmatov, which was held at the №79 school-gymnasium.
