AKIPRESS.COM - Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan upheld the decision of the Bishkek city court on reinstatement of ex-Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service Raiymbek Matraimov to his former position, his lawyer Tatiana Karyzhynskaya said. According to her, the proceedings ended on May 17. Matraimov, nicknamed "Rayim Million" for his wealth, was sacked in November 2017 by then-Prime Minister Sapar Isakov over the loss of government's trust. Matraimov sued Isakov for illegal dismissal.
On July 25, 2018, a court in Bishkek ruled in Matraimov's favor and reinstated him to his former position.
President Sooronbai Jeenbekov, in his year-end press conference on December 19, said that Matraimov was appointed Deputy Chairman of Customs Service as a professional and vowed to check his wealth, commenting on allegations about ex-customs official's wealth.
