Bishkek, May 22, 2019. /Kabar/. During its presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO), Kyrgyzstan aimed to ensure the further progressive development of the Organization, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov told today at the opening the meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Bishkek.
He said that the discussion of current activities of the organization and the proсess of preparations for the meeting of the SCO Council of the Heads of State is planned today, as well as the approval of documents for adoption by the heads of state at the upcoming summit on 13-14 June in Bishkek. In addition, an exchange views on topical international and interregional issues is proposed.
"During its presidency, which is almost reaching the finish line, the Kyrgyz Republic set the goal of practical implementation of the priority tasks of our organization and ensuring further progressive development of the SCO. In this context, a number of ministerial-level meetings on security, anti-drug cooperation and cultural ties have been held in the country. A number of meetings of experts in various areas of the SCO have also been held. In order to strengthen the trade and economic component of the Organization, large-scale events were held in Kyrgyzstan," Aidarbekov said.
He noted that a package of final documents will be considered today, which will then be signed by the heads of state at the SCO summit in Bishkek.
The minister thanked his colleagues for their support and full cooperation.
