Bishkek, May 22, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received today, on May 22 Sushma Swaraj, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India.
The Kyrgyz President’s press service reported that the sides exchanged views on the prospects of Kyrgyz-Indian bilateral cooperation, discussed the development of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations between the two countries, as well as the possibility of creating the Kyrgyz-Indian Development Fund.
Jeenbekov congratulated on the successful holding of parliamentary elections in April 2019 and stressed that India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan. He expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation and take bilateral relations to a new qualitative level.
The minister of foreign affairs of India expressed her gratitude for the meeting and conveyed best wishes and greetings from Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
She stressed readiness to expand bilateral cooperation in all areas, paid special attention to the issues of digitalization of the state bodies’ activity and development of the parliamentary democracy.
