Bishkek, May 22, 2019. /Kabar/. New enterprises will be launched in a number of regions of Kyrgyzstan in the near future, which creates in general more than 2.2 thousand new jobs for the population, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev told today during the government’s meeting.
The prime minister noted that, the first of all, the country's economy had shown positive growth trends during the first four months of this year. He said that this is evidenced by a real GDP growth of 5.7% compared to the same period last year, an increase in exports by 13.7%, as well as a decrease in imports by 8.7%.
Abylgaziev said that the Makmal gold mine in Jalal-Abad Oblast attracted USD 75 million in investment and created 1,300 jobs for residents of the Toguz-Torou region. Preparations are underway to develop the field with the consent of the local population at present.
"We said that one of the first tasks of the government is to create jobs, and we will create conditions for these 1300 vacancies which will be distributed among the residents of Toguz-Torou region. In addition, work will begin on the Kichi-Chaarat field in Chatkal region in June. 450 new jobs will be opened there. This is also a large investment project worth USD140 million," the prime minister said.
Abylgaziev noted that the launch of the enterprise in the Bishkek Free Economic Zone created another 500 new jobs, but with the strengthening of energy capacity it will increase to 700.
In addition, the prime minister said that five large enterprises will be opened in Shopokov town, Chui Oblast; in Sary-Kamysh village and Jeti-Oguz region, Issyk-Kul Oblast; and in Osh Oblast within the year.
