Bishkek, May 22, 2019. /Kabar/. Kazakhstan lifted the ban on import of fruits and vegetables from Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to its data, the decision was made following the results of negotiations held on May 13-14, 2019 in Nur-Sultan between the representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan on the implementation of the Protocol of the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Jenish Razakov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Jenis Kassymbek and the Roadmap on Strengthening Phytosanitary Control signed on Feb. 28, 2019 in Nur-Sultan.
"Kazakhstan will lift the temporary quarantine phytosanitary measure introduced on Feb. 19, 2019 in the form of a ban on import of food and seed potatoes, apples and persimmon into Kazakhstan from the territory of Kyrgyzstan since May 22, 2019," the report said.
Kazakhstan imposed temporary restrictions on import of food and seed potatoes, apples, persimmon from Kyrgyzstan and pomegranates from Uzbekistan on 19 Feb. 2019 due to the detection of quarantine infested objects in products supplied from these countries.
