SCO Media Forum in Bishkek resulted in adopting resolution

Bishkek, May 24, 2019 / Kabar /. A resolution was adopted in Bishkek following the results of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Media Forum.
Representatives of relevant state bodies of the SCO countries, leading media, as well as media experts from the countries belonging to the Organization took part in the Media Forum.
After the official part of the forum, two panel sessions were held with the participation of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov: "Dynamic Promotion of the SCO Platform through the SCO Media Resources" and "Creating a Single Platform for Effective Interaction between the Media of the SCO Countries" at which productive media development trends took place , the interaction of media and the state, issues of enhancing cooperation between the media of the SCO countries, as well as the possibilities of creating a common information space within the SCO.
Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Zhamankulov said that it is necessary to exchange experience. Every day, he said, technologies are making headway, new methods of presenting information are emerging and all the SCO member states need to constantly share experience to improve the coverage of the Organization’s activities.
The participants, following the results of the forum, noted the practical relevance in the international arena of the basic value orientations of the Organization, in particular, the "Shanghai spirit", personifying mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, mutual consultation, and respect for cultural diversity. Evidence of this is the growing interest from a wide range of countries and influential international and regional structures to cooperate with the SCO.
They stated that the current stage of development of the SCO falls on the period of active development of information technologies and the growing influence of the media on public consciousness.
The participants spoke in favor of deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the media, as well as with relevant ministries and departments of the SCO countries in charge of media issues, with a view to wider exchange of experience and implementation of joint projects, organization of press tours, thematic seminars and conferences.
Thee emphasized the importance of establishing a specific mechanism governing cooperation in the field of media within the framework of the SCO and the creation of an effective platform conducive to the practical interaction of the media of the SCO countries and drew attention to the relevance of strengthening measures to ensure information security in the SCO countries.
