Osh, May 27, 2019 /Kabar/. Mayor of Osh Taalaibek Sarybashov held a meeting with Ambassador of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Nikolay Udovichenko.
During the meeting the sides discussed the development of bilateral relations in various directions, including the strengthening of economic ties between the regions.
Taalaibek Sarybashov in his welcoming speech emphasized the close relations that connect Osh with the regions of the Russian Federation and expressed hope for the development of bilateral relations.
The ambassador of Russia noted that this is his first visit to the southern region of the republic, and as part of the trip he plans to get acquainted with the work on the reception of citizens in the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Osh.
"Relations between our countries are developing dynamically. During the spring of this year President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov paid an official visit to Kyrgyzstan. This already shows the active development of bilateral relations. Our plans are to hold a meeting with our compatriots, to consider the issue of opening branches of Russian universities in Osh, as well as to assist in the invitation to the city teachers of Russian language within the framework of the exchange of experience," Udovichenko said.
"We try to actively support the development of small and medium enterprises. The Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund provides good assistance in this regard. For example, recently I got acquainted with one of the enterprises in the north of the country producing silicon wafers, which are also supplied to Russia. This is the only such production enterprise in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) space. Such niches should be found. The main priority for us is to develop business ties between Kyrgyzstan and Russia," Udovichenko said.
