AKIPRESS.COM - About 100 trucks are stranded on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border near the Torugart checkpoint, the drivers told Turmush.
They claim that they are waiting for the reaction of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan to this problem since May 21.
Daily, 250 vehicles cross the border through the Torugart checkpoint from both sides, but not the truck drivers. They said that the Customs Service has hiked the customs payments, which decreased the number of orders from China.
"We don't have cargo for like a month. We don't understand this situation, the government keeps silence. Many drivers are sitting home. 200 drivers in Naryn, 100 drivers in Balykchy, 100 drivers in Tokmok are stranded on the borders," he said asking the government to step in.
